Salt production runs on the weather — sun, wind, and rain all shape how well it works. That's exactly why the Tamaraw Salt Producers Cooperative (TAMACO) invested in precision weather monitoring back in January 2019.
From January 15–18, 2019, a four-day collaborative effort installed and trained TAMACO's team on three Davis Weather Stations, a joint project between TAMACO, the OMSC College of Architecture, Engineering and Technology Research Team, and DOST Occidental Mindoro.
The training went deep: how each component of the Davis Weather Station works, how to interpret and analyze the data it produces, and how to turn raw readings into real decisions for more sustainable, efficient salt production.
