Four weather stations, one big training week, and a room full of people learning to read the sky. People in Need (PIN) picked up four Davis Vantage Vue weather stations for an early-warning proposal spanning several LGU municipalities, and then did something even better: trained people to actually use them.
From February 22–24, 2024, PIN hosted "Automated Weather Station Operationalization and Maintenance" in Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon — three days of hands-on Early Warning System Technical Training covering hazard monitoring, detection, and forecasting. PAGASA representatives joined the sessions, and the event was funded by UK International Development (UK Government) with support from GSMA and its members.
Our technical support specialist Jaymar Anasco led the installation and training, walking participants through operating the Vantage Vue stations, logging data, and basic maintenance — full readings on temperature, humidity, air pressure, wind speed, and rainfall.
The best early-warning system is the one your people actually know how to run. Need training alongside your next installation? APEXS builds that in.
