An important heads-up for CarChip users: at the end of 2017, Davis Instruments formally confirmed they're discontinuing their automobile product line.
Here's the timeline: orders were accepted through March 31, 2018, with all received orders shipped by the end of May 2018. Existing car hardware will be supported for up to five years, though the hardware itself, the CarChip Connect website, and the PC software won't see further updates. The online CarChip Connect site will remain available for up to three years, but as 2G networks phase out, CarChip Connect won't be upgraded to 3G or LTE.
