Carrascal Nickel Corporation Enhances Weather Monitoring with New Davis Station

On November 11-14, 2024, Carrascal Nickel Corporation (CNC) successfully installed a Davis weather station at its mining site located in Sitio Gango, Bon-ot, Carrascal, Surigao del Sur. This new equipment will provide valuable real-time data on weather conditions, enhancing the company's ability to monitor and manage operations safely and efficiently.

The installation was a collaborative effort, with CNC staff playing a crucial role in ensuring its successful completion. Our technical support specialist, James Curl Acejo, was deployed to provide expert training and oversee the installation process. The project benefited from the dedication and support of CNC staff, the contractor, and other departments involved.

This new weather station will provide CNC with vital information on:

  • Temperature: Accurate measurement of air temperature for understanding local climate conditions.
  • Humidity: Monitoring relative humidity levels to assess moisture content in the air.
  • Barometric Pressure: Tracking changes in atmospheric pressure for weather forecasting.
  • Wind Speed and Direction: Measuring wind velocity and direction for understanding air movement patterns.
  • Rainfall: Recording rainfall amounts to monitor precipitation levels.

This data will allow CNC to:

  • Improve Safety: Make informed decisions about operations based on real-time weather conditions, minimizing potential risks.
  • Optimize Resources: Adjust operations based on weather patterns, leading to more efficient resource utilization.
  • Enhance Environmental Monitoring: Gain a better understanding of the impact of weather on the mining site and surrounding environment.

The installation of this Davis weather station demonstrates CNC's commitment to responsible and sustainable mining practices. By investing in advanced technology and collaborating with dedicated staff, CNC is taking proactive steps to ensure the safety and environmental integrity of its operations at the Carrascal mining site.
