People in Need (PIN) Hosts Weather Station Training for Disaster Management

People in Need (PIN) purchased four Vantage Vue Davis weather stations.

On February 22-24, 2024, People in Need (PIN) invited us for a training and collaboration event to introduce the Vantage Vue Davis weather stations for their early warning system proposal for some LGU municipalities.

This training event, titled "Automated Weather Station Operationalization and Maintenance," was a three-day event focused on Early Warning System Technical Training on Hazard Monitoring, Detection, and Forecasting, held in Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon. The training aimed to enhance the municipality's personnel participants' understanding of safety and operations by promoting disaster management through weather observation. This will enable them to understand weather patterns and contribute to informed decision-making.

Several third-party companies, including PAGASA, were present during the event.

This event was funded by UK International Development from the UK Government and is supported by the GSMA and its members.

Our technical support specialist, Jaymar Anasco, was deployed to perform the installation and training. Jaymar conducted installation and training for People in Need personnel on how to operate the weather station and perform maintenance. This service was successful thanks to the assistance of People in Need staff and other departments who contributed during the work and transportation.

The Davis Vantage Vue weather stations are capable of measuring various weather parameters, including temperature, humidity, air pressure, wind speed, and rainfall.
